Matthew Brandt
|
Matthew Brandt's work reflects on photography's inherent depictions of passing moments. While studying in Los Angeles, Brandy immersed himself in the early processes of developing film and soon began to experiment with these techniques. In his Lakes and Reservoir series Brandt visits a site , photographs it, collects water from the side, develops the photograph and subsequently soaks the image in the collected water for varying periods of time. The water works to break down its own photographic image, questioning the nature of photography and its limitations.
