The commission involved a series of site visits where every room on every floor was photographed, and countless months of computer editing using a sophisticated architectural software programme. Shepherd say’s of his work ‘I want to revisit the world with orthographic eyes. The section is a way of seeing relationships between spaces. Relationships between main rooms and service spaces, between inside and out , between roof and basement, between people and space, between permanent and temporary, between formal and informal. The section is a portrait of place.’
