He continues to shock, entertain, and educate. Hirst works with a variety of media, but is probably best known for his series involving animals preserved in formaldehyde. Spin comes from a series of spin paintings, the process Hirst has compared to'... those little kids' toys - you just spin it and you throw paint on it ... and you end up with this really exciting, happy, brightly-coloured thing at the end of it.
