Adham Faramawy (b. 1981, United Arab Emirates) studied Fine Art at the Slade and is currently completing an MA at the Royal Academy Schools. Faramawy works in digital video, photography, sculpture and performance to create works that address relationships and narratives between ideologies such as religious myth and science fiction. The artist sees his work as operating in a ‘post-Internet’ aesthetic, quoting from the genres of speculative fiction and cyber-punk to question the role of belief systems and notions of consensus. Adham Faramawy was the 2012 recipient of the Royal Academy School’s Hiscox Scholarship.
