Edward Burtynsky (b.1955) is a Canadian photographer and artist who has achieved international recognition through his large-format photographs of industrial landscapes. Burtynsky’s images explore the impact of humanity’s expanding footprint and the substantial ways in which we’re reshaping the surface of the planet. His images powerfully alter the way we think about the world and our place in it. Burtynsky’s works are included in the collections of over fifty major museums around the world, including the Guggenheim, the Museum of Modern Art in NY, and the Bibliotèque Nationale in Paris.
